If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and helping older
people in your community, please call us to find out more.
Our volunteers enjoy getting to know local older people, and say they
benefit from the 'feel good factor' generated by giving something back to the community.
Bicester Good Neighbour Scheme is a simple, positive solution to the loneliness felt by some older
people in our area, and you can help:
If you have time to spare, and want to be matched up with a client,
please get in touch. We are looking for friendly, reliable people who are over 18. No experience is necessary but good listeners and those with practical or gardening skills will always be welcome.
If you are a student or jobseeker, this is a great opportunity to gain valuable
experience. Volunteering is one of the best things a potential new boss can see on your CV.
If you are a business, your financial support would be very welcome.
If you are happy giving some benefit in kind, areas such as marketing, print production
and fundraising would all be very helpful.
We aim to expand the service but can only do this with the help of the local community,
both business and individuals. So, this is your opportunity to do your bit.
We look forward to hearing from you.

Comments from some of our Volunteers:
"I feel that by being a volunteer with the BGNS I am in a win, win situation.
I give up a little of my time to someone who needs it and have the pleasure of
knowing that I am helping them. I have also made new friends." Brian
"Just spending a couple of hours a week volunteering makes such a difference to their lives, and I get so much satisfaction from it." Gaynor
